Files Needed for Each Song
Preferred Files (For Best Results)
For the best mastering results, please provide the following three files for each song:
• 1 WAV — Mixed Instrumental (−6 dB)
• 1 WAV — Mixed Vocals (−6 dB)
• 1 MP3 — Full reference mix or previous master (as is)
Export Guidelines
- Bypass/remove any effects or plugins on your master channel. Keep your mix FX.
- Both WAVs should peak no higher than −6 dB. No clipping. 24-bit preferred. Leave MP3 reference as is.
- Both WAVs should align perfectly in sync when dropped into a new DAW session (same starting point and timing, sometimes called consolidated).
- Label files clearly (e.g., “Song - Instrumental 80bpm.wav”).
Only have a single WAV?
We can still master your song from a single stereo WAV if you're unable to provide separate instrumental and vocal files. However, the three-file method above is preferred for the best results.
What to expect: Your finished master may sound noticeably different from the mix you’re used to. The goal is a louder, clearer, more impactful final release while preserving what makes your music yours.
